We hope everyone had a wonderful 3-day weekend. The school year is progressing quickly and our first unsatisfactory progress reports will be coming out in 2 weeks. Now would be a great time to check your students' grades in Aeries for any missing assignments, and encourage them to complete and submit their missing work. Teachers are here to support your student. We also have Homework Club on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school from 2:30 -3:00 if they need some extra help or a quiet place to work. Thank you for your support. Working together to help everyone succeed!
Last week we got to visit the Dual Immersion classes at both Central ES and Nicolet MS. The students were engaged with their lessons. We also got to visit AVID at Nicolet MS where they were working on a creative project of the steps in completing a process. Great stuff! #BanningUSD

This is just a friendly reminder that tomorrow we have our Back to School Night tomorrow evening from 5:30 to 7 pm. There will be light snacks available in our Quad (cash only).
We will begin the evening in the Assembly Hall for a brief presentation from your Palomino administration at 5:30 pm.
After the presentation, you will be able to follow your student's class schedule and visit their classrooms to meet their teachers. You will also get to experience your student's 4 minute passing period! Meet and greet following your student's schedule till be from 5:50 until 6:55 pm. We kindly ask that all of our families leave campus promptly after the meet and greet time concludes so our teachers and staff may leave to prepare themselves for another day of learning.
Tomorrow morning, your student will fill out their schedule for you on a specific Back to School Night form in their first period class. Be sure to ask them to give it to you to use at the event.
We look forward to seeing our Palomino Families tomorrow! Take care and have a pleasant evening.

All students attended an Antibullying presentation today in our Auditorium during their PE period. If you would like to see this presentation, we have made it available on our website. Click on Menu > Documents > Families
Please remind your student that being kind is cool and if they see something, say something. We want all students to feel safe and to know that they belong every single day.

Good morning Banning USD Community,
The Banning USD Leadership team has monitored Tropical Storm Hilary all weekend and early this morning; several crews have assessed any potential hazards and/or safety concerns to ensure that our facilities are safe and ready for students and staff to return. We have directly communicated with the City of Banning this morning and Riverside County Emergency Management officials to determine our schools are free of any potential safety hazards.
Schools will continue regular operations today, Monday, August 21st.
The safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance. We are aware that some families may be impacted and those with District transportation concerns will be contacted. Schools will be open and operational today to provide academic instruction for those who will be able to attend. We understand there are several impacts from the storm that may impede and/or interfere with some students being able to attend and/or participate in normal operations.

Please be advised, there is no transportation to White Water due to freeway closures.
There will also be transportation delays this morning due to the 10 E freeway being shut down at Haugen Lehman. This will affect Cabazon Elementary School, and any students coming from Cabazon to Banning.
