Dear Nicolet and Banning Community,
It is with mixed emotions and a very heavy heart that I announce my departure from Nicolet Middle School. After thoughtful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to accept a position at another school district.
My time at Nicolet Middle School has been incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your principal. Over the years, I have witnessed the dedication and passion of our teachers, staff, students, and families. I will continue to stay connected and watch the continued growth and successes to come here at Nicolet and Banning.
I am proud of the achievements we have accomplished during my time here. I have had the honor of seeing 7 different classes come through our doors. The memories and relationships I have formed will always hold a special place in my heart.
As I prepare to transition to my new role, I am confident that Nicolet Middle School will continue to grow and thrive and provide an exceptional educational experience for all students. My final day is still to be determined, but we can assure you that Banning Unified School District is committed to finding only the best replacement and making this transition as seamless as possible.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for your unwavering support. I will carry these memories with me as I step into the next chapter of my career.
Remember, even though I may be physically leaving, my heart will always remain a part of the Banning community.
Wishing you all continued success, growth, and happiness.
And if someone hasn’t told you today that they love you, Mrs. Rodriguez is saying, “ I LOVE YOU!”
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Rodriguez
Proud Palomino Principal

Good afternoon Palomino families,
We had an AMAZING 1st day of the 2023-2024 year! Thank you for all of your support in getting students here for class at 8 am and pumping them up with positivity and excitement- we could see it and feel it here today.
Please remember that we are a device free school where no cellphones, Airpods/earbuds, or smartwatches cannot be out and visible in the classrooms or in the hallways at passing period. The only time that they can be used is at lunch- students did an outstanding job with this today!
Please remind your child to write down their schedule as they cannot refer to their phones. Starting Monday, August 14, if the devices are out they will be taken and a parent/guardian will be required to pick it up at the school.
Thank you again, Parents and Guardians, for your partnership in making this school year the best one yet for your student. We cannot wait for Day 2 tomorrow!
Have a pleasant evening.
